Trying to express in some small way a piece of my experiences just reminds me of how little we will ever know about anyone. Each of us is so complex and so full of unique experiences that to fully grasp the other would take a lifetime. It's a rather frightening thought really and marvelous too in it's own way. Considering all of our differences and inability to properly communicate it is a wonder we can form friendships at all...

My pictures have no particular order and many of them are not my favorites of myself, but sometimes one must make do...

P.S. My camera has suffered a number of illtreatments lately and is on it's way out (no more shutter...), so if some of the images have strange effects this is probably why.

I study history at Uni and am currently V. jealous of you.
I can't wait till my own uni exchange to England in 2010.
So what is the fashion like in Greece? One does not often hear about it...
Beautiful pics!
Looks like you're having an incredible time! I love the second photo of you in the black dress with the cool patterned tiles in the background.
oh you lucky thing! this trip must have been amazing, so jealous right now!! (:
I would love to see those views my self.

It is sometimes frustrating to realise that I only see one facet of one's life. What I see is just one part but I make judgment on that. I always forget we are more than what we say and what we do.
So here I read your blog and thinking you're just that but I tell myself you have more interesting stories that you don't tell us.. like I have stuff that I can't blog about...
Unfortunately, I find myself in a place in my life right now, where spending a semester overseas in a beautiful exotic land would mean endless wonderful adventures but certain death of my impending marriage. I live, therefore, vicariously through you.
Please make sure your camera doesn't 100% die. And if it does, I will be the first to volunteer a small sum toward the next and hopefully imminent purchase of a new one!
But you do raise an interesting and valid point here: we create e-friendships and perceptions of peoples' personas from what they show us online, but despite appearances and words, we will never know the whole story. It makes you wonder... will we ever know the full story of ourselves or even our closest friends, or the co-workers and classmates we see every day? What makes us so objective if we think we can?
Keep traveling. Your photos are the only thing bringing me wonderful, fantastic views of the world. The news I listen to constantly has brought me nothing but ugliness.
PS. I added you to my blogroll, because I read you everyday. Could you kindly do me the favour of link-karma?
<3
such fantastic photographs!
i see what you mean about how complex we are, i guess it's hard to delve into it without it all getting a bit big and dark though.
on the one hand, there is something comforting about it, whist it's also a little unnerving!
lovely pictures..are you still in Greece?
Those photos are fantastic, Rebecca. Shutter or not.
I'm glad you're at least trying to document your experience; photos will be priceless later on, the ultimate memory trigger.
I love the pic of you doing that strange one legged pose!
I'd just like to say I've really enjoyed the pictures of what I think of as your Greek odyssey. The sites are familiar but you've captured a very mysterious feel. Nice.
Do you take all these pictures? They're all so beautiful, love the coloring of them! :)
And you're so right, we're all so complex... isn't it funny how you can know someone all your/their life, and still, really, not know all of them?
Anyway, thank you so much for your comment, always so lovely to hear from you! :)
xoxo,

These pictures are so glorious. I love the tiles in the second one and I love the outfit with the blue dress over the green. So envious.
I am so very jealous! Your photos are magnificent. I can't wait to visit Greece :) You must be having a marvelous time!
what you wrote really made me think. we think we know our nearest family and friends, but we will never manage to know everything. what we know is just a tiny part of the whole person, and I don't think someone ever will manage to know a person 100 %.
wow that looks truly amazing, I'm so glad you're having such a great time
interesting point in this post, it is amazing the blogosphere manages to construct anything at all when we barely know our own family
such amazing photographs! I am so envious! Greece must be amazing.
so great place...we are just too little compared to all the world we live, you are so right :)
a kiss!
I think I'd feel the same way after my upcoming trip--too many experiences and don't even know where to begin talking about them. I'm glad to hear you're living it up, though. :)
Such a great experience - you're having. love the dress in the second pic - suits you perfect
x
I love this yellow patterned sac and the blue dress both look so cute.
Beautiful words, pictures, and experiences!!
wow!! beautiful pictures, I'm jealous
Greece looks phenomenal. Enjoy yourself!
Mmm. Ocean. I hope it is warm there. Here is it already feeling winterish.
I like your way of thinking, and forming your thoughts into sentences which are easy to understand. Keep going, please, even if it lasts for days. I won't mind :)

greek goddess.
i know that overwhelming feeling.
just soak it up. be in the moment. and be thankful for all that surrounds you.
have a beautiful week & keep on shining.

It looks like you are living my dream life. How are the fashions there? Could you tell us more about what's in style there? What are the ladies wearing on the streets? Any great street fashions?
I love your half-scorpion pose. Were you a cheerleader once?
the photos are so lovely.
I agree with you about people- we're all so quirky and different and built with so many odd experiences that it would take years to crack the code. but that's also what makes us so interesting as well I think and why we form friendships.
Thank you for sharing those impressions with us!
wow, the last picture is absolutely breathtaking
Beautiful pictures! It sounds like you had and are having a fabulous time! I hope you continue to do so. :-)
Lovely photos, I absolutely love the last one!

It sounds wonderfull! Me to want to go to Athens and climb in Sparta.
These pictures are absolutely breathtaking!
As a Classical Studies student who writes, reads and talks about ancient Greece all day I love catching up on your time there (well, in modern Greece anyway =]). Having been to Italy twice now(the other ancient place I appear to live in my head) I would love to finally visit Athens.
Your photos are gorgeous and I'm so glad you're creating precious memories!
Yay! The denim dress=<3
Wow, breath taking! I know this is just a glimpse in your adventures, but that only makes it more exciting! :D
Girl, I commend you for continuing to blog with such a passion and regularity through this new phase of your life. It's impressive. I was worried you would be too busy and go away, thanks for continuing to brighten my days!!
Gorgeous! I'm so jealous...
you are the reason why i am frantically trying to make studying abroad a reality!
i too hope that your camera survives your semester in greece! you even look more alive/happy in these photos than before.
its great your having such a great time. you look soooo happy
Wow, such beautiful places! You seem to be having a really good time. Too bad about your camera, though.
i want you to be my personal philosopher! i really really love to read what you have to say. i just love your blog!
making me miss greece more and more with each beautiful post. and it is funny, as if we didn't have a hard enough time getting to know someone in real life, the little snippets we see in a blog are so very little of the actual person. I always wonder what people must think of me or my life from reading my blog. I'm sure it's always very different from the reality.
I can so relate to this post. I think Uni is a strange but amazing experience where even the people you live with, you may not know completely.
your pics are beautiful!
I hope you are having a great time here!
I just discovered your blog, so I had to pop in and say how much I enjoy it! You're travel photos are amazing, and the fashion's even better. ;) Take care!
simply amazing photos!
What a beautiful place!!
I totally 'hear you' on having so many experiences and not being able to share it all, but am so very greatful for all you've shared so far, what amazing pictures of Greece! Especially with your gorgeous photography, gives it an even more other-worldly feel...
gorgeous pix.
What you just wrote is absolutely what I'm feeling like when it comes to sharing the things I saw and experienced during the last weeks. But my poor English doesn't allow me to describe it as nicely as you just did. So: Thanks dear. It's good to be back. There's a lot to read and look at over here... :)
Oh my goodness! these are some of my favorites of you. We always see the thoughtful, beautiful, creative side of you, but the more laid back thoughtless side of you (which is darling, by the way) you haven't shared so much. :)
I love the captured attitude here. Definitely some of my favorites.
I can't help but feeling jealous! I have always loved Greek culture and is that the Parthenon? What a great experience you must be having!!!
Hehe your red ballerinas are everywhere with you.
They knew the world at the same time like you hehe.
If they could speak...
Hugs !!
You're smiling so you must be having fun!
these pictures makes me feel a part of me is there too.
your pictures are always so lovely.
i'm so happy i found you via modepass.
