Settling Into Daily Life

The last couple of days have quietly passed away in Athens. I have done so much traveling since my arrival here that it is nice to slowly savor the city that will be my home for the next few months. I have acquainted myself with some of the major shopping streets, befriended the local pigeons, and tasted enough Leonidas chocolates to rot my teeth.

Outfit details: dress- some shop in Japan, bag- Stadium Swapmeet in Hawaii, shoes- Urban Outfitters, belt- secondhand

We are also settling into the shared experience that is apartment living. Delegating chores and completeing daily tasks is always an issue. Being the broke college students we are, we are also attempting to wash laundry by hand in our tub and sink. It's fairly effective and air dry clothing is always nice.

Outfit details: shirt- Banana Republic Outlet, skirt- Gap, shoes- Urban Outfitters, bag- Stadium Swapmeet in Hawaii

i quit using dryers completely last year because it was an extra 75 cents. air dried clothes are definitely the way to go.

I agree with Miss Michelle Woo--the Laundry photos are just simply wonderful.

I'm glad to hear you're settling into the city now. Traveling about is so eye-opening, but getting to know your city, and learning the charms about the place where you live can be just as eye-opening.

If you can, find a good Fabric Softener, and that will help keep your hand washed clothing from getting stiff and chafey after you air dry them.

What a delightful place. Looks refreshing. I wish I could skateboard all the time. It's so much harder than it looks, I can barely stand on one.

Thank you for the comment and the answer; I understand now, and it is also a tip for future problems.

The bag is really cute (and the dress from Japan, too!), but I think I would've had problems making it versatile enough for daily use, or am I incorrect? Is it easy to integrate into your outfits (sorry for the lack of words, I am constantly improving my english :))? I am not sure if I know what you plan to study in Athens, would you tell? And how long will you stay there?

Good to hear that you're settling into the new life well.

Sharing chores could be quite difficult, right? It's not too bad doing hand washing. We used to do that when there was no washing machine.. I'm talking good 25 years ago. :)

Hopefully you will find a way to get the washing done in a more economical way soon. I'm sure there will be things you just can't hand wash. Maybe girls can chip in and do a big load at once or something?
