Hel-looks was one of the first street fashion sites I discovered before this whole personal blogging nonesense. Now, I tend to hit Facehunter or the Sartorialist first before stopping by this site, but the longer I wait the more there is for me to enjoy. It definitely makes me wish a trip to Helsinki Finland was in my budget. I think I would spend all my days skipping the sites of the city and merely sitting on a street corner admiring its denizens.
I am not that into Hel-Looks. But, I do have a few pictures from there that I really like. I'm more of a Sartorial girl or an Altamira. =) Jak & Jil is currently my new favorite.
I agree with romeika The blonde girl in the oversized grey coat is just gorgeous! Love the coat & scarf! Will have to check this website out, thanks for sharing! :)
Two years ago during a trip to Germany, I actually met a Finnish girl named Erika, and I have to say great style must be in their genes. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I have a new post that includes a picture of you, I hope that's ok? If it's not, let me know!
All of these ladies are stunning. I think my two favorites though are the young lady with the duck purse and the young lady on the bottom left hand side. So great.
well, you're in greece right now, aren't you? you really should check different low-priced airlines such as ryanair on a regular basis (get their newsletter), as they every now and then offer flights for almost no money to almost everywhere within europe. scandinavia is so worth a visit, especially stockholm but also helsinki. i don't know how long your stay in europe will be, but if you book a bit in advance you can get the flight quite easy, and maybe you can stay over at somebody's place through hospitalityclub.com or something.?
Even if Hel-Looks is not my favorite site I've to say they spot sometimes really good styled people. The two first and two last ladies are madorable.Awww all these great bags ☺
As a Finnish all I must say thank you. Usually Sweden beats us down so bad in every way, nowadays fashion specially. It is nice to be reminded like this.
Haha, I think the big picture is not nearly as fabulous though, they just manage to pick the cream of the crop :). Oh, and you can't sit in a street corner until May. But some of us are mighty stylish ;).
The bottom left girl blogs here, in Finnish, but at least you can enjoy the pics. Her style is really great.
Hel-looks is WAY more interesting to me than the increasing number of blogs devoted to photographing Conde Nast and Hearst editors and models and pretending that's "street" style.
oh my gosh-ness! those are some stylish looks there! hmm most of them seem to be carrying clutches. pretty ones too! thanks for the introduction to this site :D
hel looks was also one of my first street fashion sites that inspired me take pictures of my self and finally start a blog. wardrobe remix was the other great inspiration. now you are a wonderful inspiration x
hel looks is amazing, it's true. but don't be tricked into thinking all finns are that cool. i lived in finland for a year and a lot of them dress either very 'heavy metal' or just the skinny-jeans and jacket look, not that interesting. but i think there's this little pocket of helsinki where all the cool kids hang out, and that's what you see on hel looks.
i too love hel-looks, the photography is always so crisp and clear but there is still the sense of normal people being snapped in their normal routine- like say for example face hunter and the sart. always have people posing in certain places, but hel-looks is simply people as they are, yet they're amazingly stylish!
i went through the same thing as you -- discovered and fell in love with hel-looks long before starting my own blog, but now check out the sartorialist and facehunter firstly and more regularly. i think part of this change in my habit had to do with hel-looks taking a break for a couple (few?) months.
anyway, this post is a great reminder to me -- i should surf on over to hel-looks now!

You've kept this for yourself long enough?! :) I didn't know this one.
Thank you. :)
Hel Looks is such a great site - the people on there are so ridiculously good looking and stylish!
I love it too! I'm dying to have a coat like the one in the second pic.

Hel-looks! I love this crazy blog:) People in Helsinki dress so oroginal.
I think that the second outfit is very elegant! Cool post, xoxo.
Look at those clothes! I think the first girl is my favorite, I love her outfit and the way she is standing and looking at the camera is great!
Those girls all look sharp. They're all inspiring, too.
Looks like I need to buy a good clutch! I would love some tights/leggings like the girl in the first photo. Shiny evergreen? Yes please.
I love them alllll! Especially the bottom left though, I'm such a sucker for poof.

I love these looks, but I found the actual site to rather boring. Hm. To each his own, I guess.
Hel Looks was one of the first blogs/street style sites I ever discovered and to this day it is still inspiring. Thanks for reminding us!

Agreed with WendyB. I think these people dress with way more creativity. That girl with the long black maxi dress is perfection.
There are definately some fashion people there!
Love the duck purse, that girl looks so cute, especially with those shoes!

Drop-dead gorgeous looks, especially no. 1,2 and 4. Wow.
