Right now, it's Strike Week here in Athens. Every time when we go to the center of town (near our university) we run across riot buses and police officers with shields and batons. Some of the protestors wave flags and signs, others play music. At one intersection there was just a crowd of people silently facing an army of police officers...as always, we are outsiders looking in.

Backpacking sounds reaaly fun to me!
Thanks for your sweet comment! I appreciate people that dare to stand out and shine, and you are one of them!
Wow I really love what you're wearing!
It sounds very organized by the greece people having a whole week just for striking!good for them.
Looks like a peaceful protest. Hopefully you didn't get into any trouble?
That reminds of my time in Seoul. Demonstrations used to be highly organized and sometimes violent there. Riot police is of course heavily armed and people used to get killed etc.. there were the times..
On a more lighter note, you look refreshingly gorgeous in today's photos.
Your photos are always amazing! Backpacking works for me!
Strikes make me sad. I hope things get resolved soon.
you're such an inspiration...and of course, you always look great! love the checkered top.
I've never liked backpacks but yours is really nice.
wow.
protests possess such power + passion.
love the backpack.
handy + stylish.
hope you're well love.
x.
I've been thinking about experimenting with a backpack, but its difficult to wear esp with bulky winter coats, hmm something to ponder. And you look adorable with in two outfits, esp the love the check shirt!
You are looking especially cute here. I love happening upon things like that protest in a different country. I have photos of one I saw while I was studying abroad in Spain.
you look too cute as usual.
hell yes - backpacks are hot!!! (i wear one, so it has to be lol)
i am loving your grecian posts :D
Beware of the teargas bombs the police throws sometimes, they really make your eyes and lungs hurt. I once happened to be in Syntagma square during a demonstration and I had to run to the nearest ZARA to protect myself from the fumes. Not to mention that the protesters were throwing rocks at the McDonalds' glass windows.
Glad this was a peaceful one.
love the checkered shirt and skirt outfit
you look cute!
x
You look like the perfect but more trendy version of a tourist ☺
Wow, that reminds me of the transit strike a few years ago here in NY. Nice outfits and fabulous photos! Given your photography prowess, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that you took a class.
P.S If backpacks are chic, well, I'm totally in! Let's hope curved spines are in too because my backpack is epically heavy.
i love backpacks! I have a new eastpack one which I love because however many things I put in it it's always stick thin!
..is the dog striking too? lol.
you look so chic in that plaid top with the pencil skirt, darling!

Cute plaid top!
the first strike i ever saw was hotel workers outside of nashville.
i love your pencil skirt.
great pictures! it's seems like there is a new adventure waiting for you every day in Greece.
I wanted to mention that I used one of your beautiful pictures on a post about faux flower accessories on my blog. hopefully you don't mind but if you do, of course, please let me know!
oh i love both your outfits! strike week sounds a bit scary though!

Great backpack. I love both outfits. The weather looks so wonderful over there.
I find that Europeans always are more partial to backpacks. I don't know what it is, but even when they're not in style here, they are in Europe. Go figure.
I'm so impressed with how stylish you look while studying abroad. I shudder to think of my lack of style when I was in Spain!
you look superb in the plaid shirt, I like backpacks, they are so much easier to carry out and about
oh there's the stray dog photo! i knew it was coming. when i was in athens i swear they followed me in packs! i am shuddering at the thought of backpacks - they make me think of high school and camping. eek!
With the strike images and the colour tones of your photos...I'm suddenly reminded of The Dreamers for some reason...
always such awesome pics.....looks like you are havin' tons of fun...;)
Strike Week sounds quite fun lol. And I love my collection of backpacks and bags..I guess it's my version of a handbag. I adore the first outfit :)
oh you lok fantastic! I especially love your first outfit :)
take care,
sea @ fashionsqueah!
You look great! And that plaid shirt is too cute.:)
During the semester I spent in Italy those who worked in public transportation (buses, trains) would strike regularly. They'd warn everyone a week in advance though which seemed to me excessively polite and organized. I guess the Greeks one up them on that level though. I wonder how effective their strikes are.
And of course, lovely outfit as always!
Aw, all your outfits are too cute! I want to borrow your entire wardrobe some time! :P And I've always been rather fond of back packs, they just have to be done right and not just be the regular kind everyone has for school! :P
And strike week sounds rather interesting if not a little scary if things get out of control!
Anyway, wanted to also stop by and let you now I gave you the "I Love Your Blog" award in my last blog entry, because I simply adore your blog! :)
xoxo,

I'd love to go to Athens you lucky thing
I love the tone and air of your photos.
I'm in! I love backpacks!
heeey you have a little backpack that looks just like those small library book bags i used to carry when i was little, except mine were always ugly and some poo green colour. haha. looking cute!
actually, before lulu had made that post i was itching around my closet to find a great and versatile backpack. i carry so many books back and forth from school to home and a schoolbag just kills my shoulder so much!! i need to balance out the weight and remain hands free!
so i'm on the lookout for this really great ralph lauren backpack i used to use in middle school, haha.
thank you for getting back to my comment!!!
Backpacks are so convenient. And your one looks awesome! I love these photos :D
i adore your style... it reminds me of me! i said this before...and wow, strike week seems like tons of fun...
ps; i linked you...
I love that plaid dress/top. And thanks for answering my photography questions!
Are the riots very violent?! Please be careful! Dont get caught in them :/ I love your bagpack! My boyf just bought me a similar one & I love it!
love the plaid top! and the black dress as well, it's comfy and chic:)
