Into The Woods

Although I am decidedly not ready for fall to come, a couple of looks from Facehunter seem like very appropriate transition styles. I do head out to Washington State in two weeks time to see the parents and it will probably be much cooler there--so I'll just consider this a "vacation" wardrobe. Black never looked as good as it does with a dash of primary...
For my own pictures today I had far too much fun frolicking in the woods. It was so peaceful and quiet (outside of the raucous drone of insects) and a very mild temperature (which might indicate that coming fall I loathe so much). I'm wearing a dress and shoes you have all seen many times before, but instead of belting said dress, I pinned it back with my lucite bow pin. New is the Victorian vintage shrug I am wearing in babydoll blue with lace trim. I want to wear it with everything! It makes much more of a statement on black dresses.
Outfit details: dress- Urban Outfitters, shoes- Blowfish via Urban Outfitters, shrug- vintage via eBay

Owww you are so lucky for it to be warm enough to wear a summer dress. It's bloody August and it's raining!!!! If that's not a true sign of global warming I don't know what is!!!!
I love the idea of pinning the back with a brooch, how innovative!

Pinning your dress back with your bow pin is a very clever idea. But you're full of those, so really, this is no surprise! Sweet photos.

Your dress looks great pinned in the back--so simple, but it gives the entire dress a different look! Did you do it yourself or did someone help you? (I'm only asking because I would've had trouble pinning it back so neatly. :P)

love the blue and a dash of red in the middle of all the greens. i don't know when is the last time i place myself in the middle of so much green.

The blue dress is so fresh and stylish. And I love the pin and the shrug. The idea that that shrug was worn over a hundred years ago is sort of fabulous.... and it still is in such mint condition. Love it!!!

ps yes, adding character everywhere would be more than fun... any ideas?!

I thought you'd like those headbands alright! :)

Ingenious work with the bow. The running shot is great. Its hard work to look cute while running! Love the little lace shrug.

I always have a little bumble bee buzz in my head when I pair my yellow pieces with my black tights, cautious not to look like a furry insect.

but obviously avoiding this look is where i was going wrong, as the girl in that fuzzy cape is rocking the look, unashamedly!

annabananna said...

that bow on your back is a brilliant idea i might steal from you :) love the picture of you running!

I love the bow detail you used at the back of the dress. I've been looking around for similar clips for loose dresses and tops of my own. Very nice lace detail on the shrug.

(Day 5 on those shoes now, is it? Haha, I love them and if it ain't broke...)

Beautiful photos, for some reasons frolicking in the woods makes you look younger!
The blue dress is so striking against the backdrop of the woods, but then you do know how to take a good photo!
