After nearly a year without haircuts or self-altered fringe, I went under the scissors yesterday and got a fresh style from an actual professional! My hair feels so healthy and I love it so much. I feel like a brand new penny, all buffed and polished to perfection.
Some days are just full of excessively good things. I received the Korean Voguegirl that has a page on me in the mail (I don't have a scanner so no pictures, but if anyone wants I can photograph the page in question). Also in the mail was my sea urchin ring from Star of the East (it was ordered well before the no shopping ban--which is still going strong). I adore natural elements in my jewelry (never really got the plastic jewelry trend), so this ring is perfection.
I wandered around some of the quaint shops in the town where I got my haircut and spied a number of interesting things. There were books from the 1930s on dating and relationships and Marie Antoinette lollipops?! Someone who recognized me as the Clothes Horse came up to me--that's the first that has ever happened to me. I must admit: I blushed beet red.

i havent been to your blog for a while and was missing it :[
i love our new haircut!! it looks really nice falling around your face
Those lollipops are awesome! I also like your hair, it looks very nice. That looks like a neat little neighbourhood you were in.
freshly minted is sucha wonderful way to put it; a change is always great, enjoy :}
Nice cut!!You had such a great day-people love you and your great style!!Great ring, my god the have some cool stuff-might have to get me one!
I love days like that, they don't really come often! You look gorgeous as always and your hair looks great in that fresh new look!! :)
your hair looks great, i love the little bangs!
and your photos just keep getting better and better. =]
Love the ring-- I'm a huge fan of Star of the East's shop, though I've yet to get something myself. So it's nice to see someone I "know" with a piece!
Your hair is great-- I love how it seems to have a bit more definition and frames your face well. It's a bit, uh, more mature? ;)
Hair looks good -- I like to get a trim every 8 weeks, max. Even if you're growing/not altering your hair length, it improves the look by getting rid of split ends.
I'll never say this enough ; I love your skirt!
And I also love going to the hair dresser, you feel so new and fresh and well after I come out, I can't stop touching my hair and waving it around, haha =]
Well congratulations on being in Korean voguegirl that's so cool!!
Your ring is actually the coolest and most beautiful piece of jewlery ever, it's so natural yet "blingy" with the diamond at the top! =]
just a perfect day! love your new hair, and that town looks dreamy.
Congrats on the appearance in Korean Vogue. I'm really impressed! If you get a chance, let me know how to get a copy. In my town, I can get the English, Spanish and Indian versions of Vogue.
thank you for posting a pic of your urchin ring, so funny you had ordered one before my post:) Congrats on the Korean Voguegirl appearance and being recognized, that must be surreal:)
Your hair is amazing!
About that skirt - Every time you wear it, I scramble over to American Apparel's website.. But I can never find it, has it been discontinued?
i love your hair!
and you're blog. i finally got around to commenting :)
Your hair looks so nice now :). I love it. Must be strange to be recognized in the streets XD.
Ooh! Korean VogueGirl! That's so exciting!
Love the hair! It really completes your look.
Congratulations on the mag appearance! That is super cool. Lovely haircut and outfit!
your hair looks great!
Congrats about the Korean Vogue Gril :)
I love love love the hair!!! And congratulations of the Vogue Girl!
I love the ring - I'm really bored of the usual pretty jewellery I see so much of, and this is really fun. And congrats on keeping the shopping ban going - I don't think I ever even got started. I work 5 mins from my local topshop and the sale just started = all self-restraint out the window...
your age post is really interesting too - a little uncanny as I've been drafting a post on just that, albeit from a slightly different angle... I think the relationship between age and how people dress is changing a lot these days as so many people from all ages are exposed to the same influences, celebs, mags, the good old interwebs... and I often get nagged for not dressing my age, but like you I don't rreally understand what that is even supposed to mean anymore!
Also, NPR rocks.
even from afar, you can tell the different! very sleek yet pretty, i love it!
and congratulations for being a vogue star!!
ive just stumbled upon this little treasure of a blog and I am in love. keep it coming :))) x
oh wow! congrats on korean voguegirl!
your haircut looks awesome! i cant believe you went so long without one ... i guess with short hair it's a little different for me though!
Ooh, your hair looks really nice! I love your ring, I've never seen anything like it. And the lolipops made me smile. :D

that is a great ring- the bigger the better if you ask me! and your hair looks good too, i love a fringe- im so jelous of people who can wear them without looking like a 4-year-old.
:) x
I had my hair cut the other day too. It makes you feel more awake when you have good hair I think.
^Anna, it's this fantastic beaded bag. It was really lovely on that side, but the other was the same with a gigantic sequin flower on top and the handle was a mess--I was contemplating getting it and removing the handle and the flower, so I snapped a picture just in case I wanted to go back for it...
Your new hair is definitely fabulous and I love that teal bag!
What a pretty penny;) The sea urchin ring is amazing! That whole shop is a treasure trove, thanks for the tip!

i've always liked your hair, it's simple and lovely and speaks a lot about you. but your new haircut is SO fantastic, i can't stop staring!
and i can relate to being recognized -- it happened to me for the first time too, just a few days ago. i was at a thrift shop, looking my least-fashionable and then there she was.. a girl who recognized me from my blog. how surreal! i couldn't even get two words out. @.@
Oh, I love geeting my hair done. It makes me feel so pampered.
I really like the details on your shirt and your belt and bag and ring by the way (basically I just said everything you're wearing, but whatev).

p.s. Definitely check out the women in film book! I think you'd be someone who would definitely enjoy it a lot. Apparently Ms. Wendy B has read it as well, and said it's stuck with her through the years. What a fantastic recommendation!
