Don't Wake Me I Plan On Sleeping In

What I learned from the Haute Couture shows: I'm looking forward to a monochromatic, but not boring Fall wardrobe. Just look at the rich hues and attention to texture.monochromatic, color, bright, tights, runway, fashion, style, match, shoesmonochromatic, color, bright, tights, runway, fashion, style, match, shoesmonochromatic, color, bright, tights, runway, fashion, style, match, shoesmonochromatic, color, bright, tights, runway, fashion, style, match, shoes
Pictures via Style.com, outfits from Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture 2008.
For now it's not quite fall and I feel a bit like a dysfunctional 50s housewife in this outfit. Something about the shape is classic, but the colors feel fresh. It's the best I could manage after waking up two hours late for work! Yikes! I'm making up the missing hours by cutting my lunch, giving up my breaks and staying after work for awhile. Such is life...50s, housewife, vintage, business, casual, fashion, style, virgin, suicides, romantic, photographs, photoshoot, the clothes horse, theclotheshorse, daily, outfit50s, housewife, vintage, business, casual, fashion, style, virgin, suicides, romantic, photographs, photoshoot, the clothes horse, theclotheshorse, daily, outfit50s, housewife, vintage, business, casual, fashion, style, virgin, suicides, romantic, photographs, photoshoot, the clothes horse, theclotheshorse, daily, outfit50s, housewife, vintage, business, casual, fashion, style, virgin, suicides, romantic, photographs, photoshoot, the clothes horse, theclotheshorse, daily, outfit

i loove this song

Casey-Scott said...

How bizarrely ironic. I was listening to that song as I clicked onto here!

But I am loving the monochromatic look. I've always thought that monochromatics look really smart when they're put together well.

Your outfit is adorably cute. I love the skirt!

I absolutely love the pattern detail of the white (or pale blue?)skirt, it's a brilliant idea ! The two last pictures are fantastic.

I love the idea of wearing a monochromatic outfit in lots of different textures!
I think my favourite is the purple silk dress from the Givenchy runway; I love the way the fabric folds

great shoes, and lovely faded photos! oh i hate when i oversleep, it rarely happens but when it does my composure for the day is wrecked. last year, when i went to cambridge, england to do a little summer study program, the first night i set my alarm, but forgot to turn it on! oops, so of course, being jet lagged and all i got up 2 hours late, it was humiliating to show up late for the first day of classes :\

I love that outfit, you look very classy and funky at the same time.

Where do you work?

MadameDior said...

Absolutely love the Jean Paul Gaultier dress, the colour just jumps out at you and the detail at the hem is interesting. Your outfit is lovely, and the checkered detail is a pleasant surprised. I realsied that you have very unique taste in your jewelry, all of your pieces are beautiful.

those buttons on the collar look great! subtle but oh-so-interesting to look at (: i think i can suggest that to my friend who has been quite compulsively collecting stray buttons

I loved the head to toe pink look. It reminds me of being 5 and refusing to wear anything other than pink.

I really want to try and pull off an mono colour outfit, but its hard as the only thing that works for me at the mom is boring black :/

and love the coral necklace in the first pic.

great colors in those outfits. an di love your skirt, the checkered details are darling.

Lovely outfit as usual. :] & the postal service lyric made me smile.

Oh, I remember this collar! What an ingenious idea for a diy project. I've sewn many a-button in my years, but it is always because I have a tendency to mess with them and they fall off :\

Hey, great previous post and i agree with you on all aspects of it. Personally i think we should all stay out of "celebrities" Lives and i don't believe it's fair that we constantly feel the need to delve into their lives, when really it's private to them. I do however believe we can admire their style, after all it's none of our business to judge them on a personal level, as you said none of us are perfect.
A wonderful post and a great topic to discuss.
I love the outfit you are wearing in this post and i love the coloured tights on the models. I have to get some!
Bye
xx

The matching tights are...TIGHT!!! It looks like we're going back to matching, which is fine. It takes away a lot of the hard thinking!

Great photos, as always, I love the composition of the last one!

Yeah the all one colour look is still hot then! The photos you have taken are really quite lovely.

The uber chartreuse outfit looks awesome. I really love the whole monochrome look but it's surprisingly hard to achieve esp. if you add tights into the mix.

Your outfit is so lovely. I love the hint of plaid in the wrap around skirt and those gorgeous coral necklaces.

Necklace! Pretty! Gasp!

I wouldn't have thought of the "dysfunct 50s..." if you hadn't brought it up first. But yes, am looking forward to monochromatics in all their bright glory. I have seen that with a little detailing and texture in place, monos are actually quite easy to accessorize.

Pudding and Pie said...

Two things I love are bright colours and couture, so I'm loving the above looks too.

You look lovely, as usual. I like the red necklace.

I too want to change things up, but I'm too wonky to focus on things like that during the summer.
