As it is Friday, I am also starting another mini-movie marathon. From the library I am picking up Public Enemy, Topper, and It, while I am returning my books--since they are overdue! (I have not quite completed "War and Peace," but I am taking a break both from the book and my ban, I think I will recollect both sometime next week...^_-)
Speaking of movies, this pose was in my mind all day, as was the scene from The Women where Mrs. Fowler is exercising and her instructor tells her to "climb slowly up the wall." Mrs. Fowler says, "the way you say that makes me feel like vermin," and her instructor wittily replies, "that shouldn't be too much of a stretch for you...climbing up the wall that is." I adore that movie!
Outfit details: dress- man's old shirt reconstructed for a line called Sample bought in Japan, shoes- H&M, blazer- Ralph Lauren via eBay, scarf- my mother's, bangles- gifts, Chinatown, and the Stadium Swapmeet in Hawaii (the stones ones are real jade)
P.S. I almost forgot to mention this, but Chictopia is featured on the Teen Vogue website and I was chosen as one of the favorite Chictopians! This is just so cool! I still feel rather new to Chictopia, but I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't already. According to Teen Vogue it is "the next big thing" and if the folks over at Teen Vogue don't know what is, I don't know who would!

As for books and library movies... it's so fun to read about another library-goer. Cath and I have stocked up on House of Elliot (bbc production about two sisters who start their own couture house in London during the 20s)- we highly recommend you nab the discs at your library if they have them in circulation.

The Public Enemy eh, I watched that in film class. It wasn't my favourite ever, but it was interesting. The disclaimers make it seem almost like a propaganda piece. And the grapefruit scene, yikes (you'll see what I mean).

This is honestly one of the best ideas for a work outfit ever. I start office work again next Monday and I think that you are wearing my first day back outfit. I like it how it's 'office appropriate' -> such a horrible term but your personal style really shines through with the scarf and bracelets.
I've always wanted to see It ever since there was an article in Aus Vogue about the concept of 'it' and it girls. This movie was quoted as being one of the first to use this term.

That's awesome you got your jade bracelet from Hawai'i! We get them as presents when people are born or have a child, at least that's what I think because my mom got one from her mother in law when she had my brother (he was the only boy born from her son's to carry on the name) and my friend's newborn has one.
And, man I would love to be your friend and watch awesome movies every week! I probably have the time to watch at least one movie a week, but never get around to doing so. I've thought of getting a netflix acct or something like that, but I'll check my library like you did (I forgot they rent movies, I used to rent videos there as a kid).
