These are my last new pair of shoes for awhile (or so I tell myself). They're heeled oxfords, which I felt were a classic and necessary addition to my wardrobe. The heel is once again quite difficult for me to navigate in, but they do have a hidden platform in the front, so they're not quite all heel.
The blazer is also new, although I've had it for nearly a month without wearing it. I'm not entirely certain how I want to wear it and it has also been too warm most days to experiment with...

Outfit details: blazer- Ralph Lauren via eBay, shoes- Nine West via Amazon.com, dress- Sample (an old man's shirt turned into a dress, from a shop in Japan), tights- We Love Colors, scarf- secondhand

Blue looks very good on you. I was looking for a pair of oxfords too, but now... summer is here so I'll wait until next fall. the blazer looks very nice.
i love your style and have become a recent fan of yours -- thanks for posting insightful and inspiring blogs! however, my one point of critique would be the perpetual pigeon-toed stance appearing in your photographs -- why? if i am being insensitive and rude, please, please forgive me. but there have been several thoughtful editorials written about this posture, particularly as it relates to the infantilization of women, something which i continue to see marketed towards women our age. i understand the "flattering" appearance the posture creates, but i would be interested in your thoughts and reasoning behind adopting the pose so continually. also -- to end on a more complimentary note, i adore those shoes and may hunt them down myself.
with much respect and admiration,
chelsea
I love your photos! I get what you mean, but sometimes I wish I have more colors in my wardrobe too! I like how you tie the scarf around your neck & the shoes are amazing :)
That scarf is amazing, and I must find a shirtdress for myself.
Hi!
I've been seeing your blog, and you have a great style! :)
Blue is one of my fav colours too, it's so nice...*.*
Cute outfit!

wow, nice outfit! i have a similar pair of oxfords, only in purple. i've worn them to death this spring http://sweetfancytreat.blogspot.com/2007/10/just-how-lucky-can-girl-get.html
xo
Pretty outfit once again!
I do the same thing with the colour red. But why not wear it if you love it? You look gorgeous in blue.
Ps. you've been tagged!!
i love the tights, shoes, blazer, scarf, dress. haha, all of it! =]
you have some of the best shoes, those are killer!!
ooo well blue is a gorgeous color and you wear it so well, these lovely layers of different beautiful shades almost feels like a picasso painting from his blue period and the shoes are stunning and classic
^Anonymous, honestly I feel I vary my pose often, but this is one I do return to. If I am seated, it protects my modesty and if standing it gives a better view of the shoes than a purely front shot. I hear what you're saying about the position about the infantilization and I've never heard of it in conjuction with this particular pose. (I'm actually quite anti-Lolita looks and such.) I certainly don't walk like this--which I have seen girls attempt! I'll have to consider this and try to be more intentional in my posing.
And I don't find your comment rude at all--rather very insightful and thought-provoking. Also, if you do happen to have links for those articles (if they are online) I would be interesting in reading them. I just read one recently that was linked on Cupcake Diary about the proliferation of pink for little girls...
The dress looks so good on you, blue is a nice color on you.
I love blue! is my favourite colour as well!, and those heeled oxfords shoes are just gorgeous!! lovely outfit! :)
Amazing outfit! Great shoes! Acielle xx
love that blue-gray on you. By the way, you've been TAGGED!
The white tights with the blue dress goes together amazingly well, and the blazer gives the look an androgynous edge :D
Also, I have to say this, LOVE your shoes in teh previous post!
i love the shoes! i think blue highly suits your hair and skin tone, it's very serene. are you using a different camera? the effects are cool
Loving the sexy librarian glasses!
I am terribly tempted to buy those shoes or ones like them. I'd really like a smaller heel though. And I love blue. My whole room is blue.
you are without a doubt, very adorable. and the colours on these pictures are amazing! looks like they're part of an editorial.
lovely outfit. awesome blazer.
i find myself doing the "pigeon toed" posture as well. i'm not sure why.
i LOVE your shoes!
Love the blue on blue look.
I love how you wear the scarf, especially tucked into the blazer. This is such a lovely outfit. The last picture is gorgeous.
Cute outfit, I need your shoes. Whats wrong with wearing only blue.
hello again -- thanks so much for your reply. i had not considered what you mentioned about the shoes and modesty before, but that reasoning makes sense. i tried to find the editorials i had seen (i think there were two or three that at least mentioned it) and was unsuccessful, however, if i do stumble across them again i'll be sure to send them your way. thanks so much for participating in this conversation (about what i would call important issues) and i look forward to being a daily reader of yours.
best,
chelsea
I absolutely adore that blazer, and all these blues! I think variety is nice, but not if it looks better or you like it better in a different color.
i think blue looks great on you! and these pictures are gorgeous...
You have all this cute clothes and pictures, I am so jealous
i love those shoes and skarf!!! perfection!
a kiss!
i knew it: after seeing the other two pairs of your shoes i was sure i was gonna like the third pair as well - and i do! as well as your new blazer, i want one like this really badly.
like your answer about the little pigeon-toed debate.
Hey, thanks for your comment on my blog :) Much appreciated. I love the whole outfit in this post, it's lovely! the shoes are gorgeous! I like the setting aswell, its beautiful :)
Great post
xx
Your new shoes look extremely lovely. ^___^
I especially like your scarf. I looks like your head is in the center of a huge blooming blue rose!
Oh, and I think I will be updating my blog more frequently now that... schools out!!! :DDDDD
I am very excited.
Blue looks beautiful on you. I agree it's very calming.
i love the whole outfit. the setting of the pictures is also really pretty...
you're right, the heels are classy in a really beautiful way.
I never liked blue as a youth/teen (for the lamest reason). I felt that since it was EVERYONE's favorite colr that I needed to be a unique individual and could not like it all - lol!
=0 a beautiful outfit, lovee the scarf and blazer =]
The blazer and the shoes are truly classic pieces. I have a navy blue blazer myself, with silver buttons, that I adore and I wear it with almost everything. Such an elegant garment and easy to combine.
What an interesting conversation with 'anonymous.' My mother says I stand like that and I have no idea I even do it. If those articles crop up I'd love to read them.
Back to the outfit at hand- please show us more of your blue wardrobe! I love it, my walls are painted blue, I surround myself with it except in my wardrobe. I feel like I just don't know how to wear it without it looking like a uniform.
Ha, coming from someone who lives in black and white!
The white tights are the perfect touch for balancing the outfit. Blue looks great on you!
I love those shoes - totally worth it if they're your last shoe purchase for a while. Lovely outfit!
those shoes suit you so well and blue is a fantastic colour on you!
Argh! Why must I not live in the U.S!! I was going to buy a pair of Nine West oxford heels as an early b-day present, but Amazon doesn't ship them out of the country. Awesome. For me, it would be purple. I could live in purple clothes forever.
love, love, love the blazer!!!!!!
Oh wow at first glance it doesn't even look like a men's shirt, that's a good idea for a dress, I'm going to raid my boyfriend's closet now lol!
i adore the denim shoes! x
I love the outfit, the blue is really great and those shoes are awesome!
I love the man's shirt as a dress and those shoes are rather wonderful. Blue is a great colour to wear, especially navy and dark blue; mysterious and elegant!
Blue suits you so well!
That is such a good ebay find!
And those shoes are seriously pretty, and they go so well with the blazer!
Usually I think white tights look strange but I love the outfit except the shoes.
Blue looks great on you. I love the new shoes, I nearly bought a pair like that myself the other day but amazing I managed to resist!
Looking at your pictures always gives me a feeling of calm and peace. I adore the colors in this post.
«3«3«3«3 love the pics
really
Rebecca: I'm loving your pictures lately (not that they aren't always great, but I notice you are transforming - maybe it's the work environment?) You're looking so delightfully sophisticated!
I second K.Line^^
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Something cool is happening with you.
Especially this last photo.
