An Old Curiosity Shop

We drove through apple orchards full of white blossoms with the windows down listening for spring peepers and smelling the coming storm on the wind. Small, quaint houses and abandoned barns are passed on our mission to reach a small antique and vintage shop. We arrive to a yard full of junk and curiosities. Metal figurines of flying pigs, stone statues, doors, and even the occasional tub fills the grassy lawn with interest and eccentricity. Inside hosts even more bizarre items from deer's heads with vintage wedding veils on top to a collection of vintage telephones. It's easy to see why it's crowded; every corner holds the potential for a hidden treasure.

do you remember in harriet the spy when rosie took harriet and her friends to that strange lady's house with all of the neatness in her yard?

that's what this post makes me think of.

What a quaint (That's such a cute word. I tried not to use the word cute in this comment, cause I think I say it too much.. But I just had to!) little shop!

I like the face pillow (?) thing. It looks like it might be a little too hard to be a pillow though.

I don't think there are any vintage shops where I live :(

We totally adore your entire post! The little gold brocade (?) jacket is darling, but the face cushion/pillow is the best. Absolutely the best. Did you have as much fun on the trip as it sounds...? We hope so.
BTW, we just fell into your blog and love it. We'll probably be held captive for hours reading previous posts. Thanks for sharing such cool stuff, especially sharing of yourself. :-)
