Bright Eyes
We all need more art in our lives, so today I bring you the clean, elegant, and sometimes sensual pieces of Polish Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka. While her personal life might not have been as pretty or organized as her art, these pieces are to be admired. What is most striking to me is the expressive quality of the eyes.

The second image reminds me of Faye Dunaway in Bonnie & Clyde. Lovely.
I have a Tamara print of a nude woman in my office. It's lovely and subtle. Some years ago in San fran I saw an exhibit of her work at that little jewel box museum on the water--where part of Vertigo was filmed.

you're right, the eyes are very expressive, and aren't the eyes one of the hardest things to draw? or is that an art cliche? But you can definitely see how the mood is different in each picture because of the eyes

They're gorgeous. I like the tonal range, the colors, and the quality of light. I also see Constructivism in those last two. Perhaps because she's from Poland.
