The Tell-Tale Something

I was walking to class today (in a bit of a rush to be ten minutes early) when I noticed something on me was squeaking. I like to be silent when I walk so it was very important to find the source of the squeak and put an end to the noise pollution.
Step, step, squeak, squeak. Was it coming from my shoes? Bend at waist, stair fixedly at feet. Step, step, silence... Hmm, maybe it's gone... Stand erect again, walk on. Step, step, squeak, squeak. Where is it coming from?! Stop walking, bend feet around, silence. Hmm... Step, step, squeak, squeak. Grrr, what is this??? Step, step, step, squeak, squeak, squeak.
Finally I got to class, the source of the sound still unknown. I stopped by my desk, when a friend called my name. I turned at the waist to say high---squeeeak! What? Eyes drop down to waist and the source was discovered! My belt was squeaking! Maybe I swing my hips too much while I walk... My sister has called it a "come hither" walk before...

That's funny...I rarely wear belts so have not experienced squeaky belt syndrome but I definitely have some noisy shoes.

I have a squeaky belt as well :) funny story though. Love your outfit (and apples :D )

That's really bizarre! I would have thought it was my shoes also. The worst is when the heel of your shoe has worn down to the metal and it makes that pirate peg-legged sound!

(Sorry for my absense, but I've had the flu!)

What lovely colors today! Also, warm enough for sandals? No fair!

This outfit suits you well, I also have started experimenting with hemlines that are further south, and it’s a welcome change I think. I love the apples I the shot, very nicely thought out.

I LOVE the collar on that shirt. It's ruffly and wonderful.

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to be quiet when you walk, too. My keds have been giving me trouble lately.

Ha! I always have to find the source too! I don't like to click or squeak when I walk, but I've never had it happen from a belt.

That's so funny! I've never experienced that since I never really wear belts, but I really hate it when my shoes make noise! Especially in an empty hallway.. But anyway, love the outfit!

Ah! I know what you mean about walking in silence. Except when I wear heels, I like people to know I'm coming. ;)

that's a funny story, I've had problems like that before. I hate it when you hear a sound and you have no idea where it's coming from.
Love that outfit, you look cute and sweet as usual.

You look so springy! I love all aspects of this outfit, even the squeaky belt.

hehe funny, I used to have pants that squeaked in sixth grade, i think that was because since I was a bit tubby my legs grazed together in between my thighs too much though. So maybe it wasn't the pants per say. Is that a slip you're wearing as a skirt? I love it, i recently discovered that the 99 cents store near my house is carrying tons of vintage looking slips and underwear and i've been stocking up, letting the longer slips show underneath my dresses. I'm rather afraid of wearing a slip by itself as a skirt though, do you wear another slip underneath to avoid see throughness?

I am SO sorry. I am laughing my head off at the coincidence. Reason? I am having a bowl full of cut, green apples. I love this outfit. It is making you look really tall.

Hahahaha
I'm really obsessed about me making noise all the time. But I just hook to my iPod on the street to avoid it! ;)

Love that skirt!

First of all that I totally totally agree with you about outfits being sound-free. I even hate wearing shoes that make sounds when I walk it drives me insane and second, it totally reminds me of an episode of Cheers when everyone in the bar bought some discount shoes which ended up being very squeeky and the whole bar was just filled with the sounds of everyones shoes. You and your belt have my sympathy.

Well, you look great, squeak or no squeak. What will you do with the belt?

i've only ever had squeaky shoes so this is new. nevertheless, that's one cute squeaky belt.

diamondcanopy said...

I've not had that...but have recently discovered that one of my belts likes to undo itself and i often find it hanging off me! Hmmmm, somewhat like a tail! I need to sort that belt out....
