Time Ain't On My Side

I still have not found the time to get around to visiting other blogs lately. I wish computers in the lab ran faster and one was in my room!
I am working on a doodle for my future tattoo. The tattoo will be of martlet birds, but I think an abstract interpretation of the birds would be more unique. I'm struggling to incorporate my style of drawing into a concrete figure. This is by far the final sketch, since it is just doodled in my notebook.

Prety nice actually, nothing I've seen before.

I love this. You should check out some greek ornament/decoration for some more inspiration. I've always wanted a tattoo too, but I'm too indecisive to ever choose one and stick with it...

Your sketch reminds me of birds I see on Russian folk art or the German hex signs found on barns in Amish country.

I love your tattoo design, where are you thinking of having it?

.. and I just have to also say that I LOVE that you are designing your own tattoo! I can't stand it when I go past a tattoo parlour and people are browsing the design books!
Why would you want to permanently ink yourself with something someone else (or some other 100 people) may have! .. It's like being in some kind of gang.

It looks very scandinavian to me, I love it!

thank you for the advise but i think the problem is with the website. well i started posting polyvore sets so that will have to substitute for now. but thanks again and i love the design although i dont want a tattoo. you should draw them on some tights or something like that!

wow cool design, i like the idea of designing your own tatoo, more meaningful instead of a lame star

Love the design - usually I can't stand cliche tattoos but yours sounds awesome!

I would also like to know where you're going to place your tattoo?

I'll offer some unsolicited advice: place it where it can be covered up. You'll be glad you did.

I really dont think getting a tattoo is smart. There isnt much I disagree with you on, but this is one of those times. When you are older does that mean you will still enjoy the tattoo? Think about it please

That will be quite a cute tatoo, I don't think it will be such a bad thing as you designed it yourself so its totally unique :)

wowee so cool that you're designing your own tattoo! I have always fancied a tattoo but I'm just too afraid of the committment. Un-erasable just scares the heck out of me, so for now I'll satisfy my tattoo cravings with temporary ones or pen doodles which I need to stop or else i might get ink poisoning! Love the outfit too as always :)

i admire your courage (or free-spiritedness? or insanity?) in planning to get a tattoo. i also admire that you're designing it yourself.

is there a previous post where you first mentioned wanting a tattoo? i'd be curious to read about your thoughts leading up to wanting one. it's possible you didn't really give much thought to it (and i don't mean that in a bad way), but i suspect with your introversion and all ;), that you probably thought it out...

:)

oh, and i wanted to add that it will SO fierce when you get it; i love the contrast between feminine bookishness and tough tattoos!
