An Eye for Detail

Haute Couture season is my season. This is the fashion I truly love, the designer's pieces that are deemed "unwearable" by the masses but I would bedeck myself in them in a moment. Who doesn't want to be a piece of living and walking art I would like to know...
I am already ecstatic over the Christian Dior show, with John Galliano's showmanship his pieces of art can be appreciated at any size. The Armani Prive show however did not stun me at first, I was actually think, this is supposed to be haute couture? It is so safe, so drab. Then I looked at the detail shots and suddenly I got it. Behold the details (and there are so many more, small origami fabric triangles, detailed beaded collars, so much to behold, visit Style.)armani prive, runway, detailarmani prive, runway, detail, hair, piece, geishaarmani prive, fashion, runway, detailarmani prive, fashion, runway, cuff, bag, detailarmani prive, fashion, runway, detail, cuff, bag

oh dear, the color is amazing and everything is perfection. as expected.

you're not alone with wearing these fashions; what i would give for the outfit in the fourth picture and the skirt in the fifth.

Yess, I often find that the details are what can make or break certain outfits. I love the third and fourth pictures!

I love the hairpieces, and it's true, the details can make or break it.

I didn't really like the clothes but the detailing is superb....

I second the superb detailing, and its mostly couture that makes me question the boundaries between fashion and art.

Prive is always subpar. The detailing is great, but the clothes are always too safe for couture in my opinion.

The details in the designs are so intricate. I also really like the hair accessory, reminds me of the geisha headgears.

I really like the hairpiece in the first row. Or, whatever exactly it is.

Oh la la! I loved Armani Prive. I was just about to review it. (Sorry I've been away, and trying to catch up with everyone is sometimes so hard!)

Correct! Intricate detailed design can make that difference. Your collection is an example of it.

I agree with you about couture - that is art! The details you show here are stunning. I especially like the black head piece.

couture is definitely art. i love clothes in which you feel part of it. when i am old and have enough money i want to have just one couture piece:)
